Level Crossings

Date Added: 28-Aug-2003    Courtesy: Frank SCott
Level crossings always seem to look far too clean out of the box. But many times are "over weathered". Try to apply a small amount of dark wash (a watered down black) only to the hinge and connecting rod areas of the gates. These were the parts that were greased regularly and we would expect them to be greasy always. Over weathering can make the gates look simply "grimy" and "uncared for". This also can be a pleasing effect in older freight yards etc.
